Plant Hall, University of Tampa, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa; (813) 254-1891. The museum is housed in the former Tampa Bay Hotel, a national landmark built in 1891 and now part of the University of Tampa. Now showing: "Heart and Flowers: Victorian Valentines," a late 19th- and early 20th-century exhibit of paper ephemera that features children, cherubs, Cupid, hearts, cabbage roses, lace, feathers and sentimental messages, through Feb. 29; the museum also offers tours of the building's Great Hall and other rooms, as well as original furniture, decorative artifacts, Moorish revival architecture and the minarets that have become Tampa's signature visual image; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; $10 adults, $7 seniors and students, $5 children ages 4 to 12.

Permanent exhibits include: "Kids in Charge!" an interactive science exhibit for children; "Disasterville," a 10,000-square-foot exhibition on the science behind natural disasters; "High Wire Bike," which allows visitors to harness themselves to a bicycle and ride it on a high wire 30 feet above ground; "Bio Works Butterfly Garden," which allows viewing free-flying butterfly communities; "The Amazing You," an exhibit that explores the human body; The Saunders Planetarium, which offers an opportunity to view the night sky and watch special videos, 3-D graphics and live feeds from NASA; the IMAX Dome Theater; the Coleman Science Works Theater; the MOSI Café featuring creations by chef John Sellers; Bar 1570; and a vast number of educational programs and special events; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; prices vary; general admission ticket for MOSI exhibits, including a Saunders Planetarium show, one IMAX Dome Theater film and admission to "Kids in Charge!" is $20.95 for adults, $18.95 for those 60 and older, $16.95 for children ages 2 to 12, free for children younger than 2; call for other pricing options or visit www.mosi.org.

TAMPA BAY HISTORY CENTER, 801 Old Water St., Tampa; (813) 228-0097. Now showing: "Spies, Traitors and Saboteurs: Fear and Freedom in America," exhibit uncovers stories of domestic terrorists, radicals and saboteurs who have threatened America the past 200 years, through June 24; center features a large number of ongoing exhibits, including: "Icons of Tampa Bay," 14 colorful icons suspended from the ceiling that represent Tampa Bay's diverse culture; Winds of Change Theater profiles European explorers' first contact with Tampa Bay, beginning in 1528; "Florida's First People" features artifacts of the Tocobaga and Calusa tribes and original art by Theodore Morris; "European Exploration" highlights the arrival of Spanish and French explorers; the Charles E. Knight Gallery displays Seminole and Miccosukee artifacts; Coacoochee's Story Theater offers an account of Seminole Chief Coacoochee's experiences during the Second Seminole War; "Cigar City" memorabilia collection chronicles Tampa's cigar industry; "Your Tampa Bay" is an interactive map of the area; "Cowboys & Crackers" showcases the area's cattle industry; and the "A Place of Our Own" exhibit is designed for children; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; $12 adults, $10 for those 65 and older and ages 13 to 17; $7 for children ages 4 to 12, free to those 3 and younger.

PIONEER FLORIDA MUSEUM AND VILLAGE, 15602 Pioneer Museum Road, Dade City; (352) 567-0262. Museum features a 1930s one-room schoolhouse, an 1860s farm building, an 1878 church building, an 1896 railroad depot, a cane syrup mill and various turn-of-the-century displays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; $6 adults, $5 age 55 and older, $2 children ages 6 to 15, children 5 and younger are free.
