Take a balmy spring evening, add cool lounge furniture, live music, sexy Samba dancers, a daybed parade, fashion show, food and booze and set it up in one of the city's nicest parks and what do you have? Chillounge Night, of course.

The third annual event begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa. This is an al fresco party for the grown and sexy people where you can lounge at your leisure and enjoy some serious eye candy all under the stars.

"We try to make it a little bit bigger and better every year," said Chillounge creator, Rainer Scheer, who is presenting the event with Tampa Bay BMW. "We want to entertain people and offer them things they can't experience anywhere else. I want to make this epic."

Scheer, a Sarasota gallery owner, created Chillounge as a way to add some excitement to Sarasota's nightlife. Since the first event in 2008 was so successful; it's come an annual event in Florida cities including St. Petersburg, Orlando, Fort Myers and Orlando. He hopes to take it nationwide someday. The next Chillounge will be held May 12 in Orlando.

On tap at Chillounge Night in Tampa will be live performances by R&B singer Latraia Savage & the All-Starz, Hunks of Funk, performer Iman, Phoebe's Samba Girls from Brazil, stilt walkers, a daybed parade, fashion show and more.

This year's fashion show is called "The Business of Image" and will celebrate 20 Bay area personalities "that make Tampa bay an amazing place to live," said Brandi Kamenar, CEO of Image Design Studio and a sponsor of Chillounge.

Professional models also will show off the latest accessories from six area designers while dressed in black masks and cat suits, said Kamenar.

A fireworks display by the Gold and Diamond Source will bring Chillounge to a colorful end.

Partial proceeds from Saturday's event will benefit Friends of Tampa Recreation.
