Bobby Brown and New Edition headed to Tampa

A blast from the past is coming to Tampa this spring.

New Edition, the popular '80s R&B boy band, will bring their 30th anniversary tour to the Tampa Bay Times Forum at 8 p.m. May 4.

The concert will feature all six original members – Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Mike Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, Ralph Tresvant and Bobby Brown, ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston.

New Edition is known for such hits as "Candy Girl", "Mr. Telephone Man," and "Cool it Now."

Band members also are expected to perform hits from their solo careers, which include Brown's "My Perogative," Gil's "My, My, My," and "Poison" from Bell, Biv, DeVoe.

Tickets are $52.50, $63.50 and $125 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at the McDonald's Ticket Office at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive; all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com; and by telephone at (800) 745-3000.
